As the semester comes to an end, the Winter Fine Arts Festival took place to celebrate all forms of art. It was an exciting night for all. There was a holiday band concert, a spectacular art show, Christmas carols, and all-you-can-eat waffles! Both the Music and Art Departments worked very hard to make this event a memorable one.
Each year this event starts at 5:00, and tickets for waffles are sold at the main entrance. Tickets are $10 for students and adults. For senior citizens and veterans, the price is $8. Children 6 and under eat free. The rest of the activities are free for all to enjoy. The band concert begins at 7:30, and the art show and cookie sales are open to the public from 5:00-8:00. All-you-can-eat waffles go on until 8:00, and as you enjoy your meal, the band and choir provide jolly Christmas tunes.
The art show consistsed of all the artwork that CHS students made this semester. The art show is organized by Mrs. Campbell and Mrs. Stodola, as well as the art club. This year’s art show showcases the advanced art students’ artwork. These students were at the art show all night next to all the creative work they have done. There are seven advanced art students: Ally McFadden, Mia Labra, Lizeth Mendez-Diaz, Tavin Price, Ryland Prokopec, Sage Warner, and Jacob Woodhams. They are all seniors and have worked very hard on their magnificent art pieces throughout this semester and in previous years.
This event was truly a fun night for everyone, and the art and music departments were doing the most to make this night great. The art club students were helping with Waffleman, and the music students were working hard to make this holiday concert a great performance. Hopefully, you all had the chance to support all of the fine arts students. It was a celebration of the arts that supports our fine arts program and showcases all of our hard efforts this semester.
