
The boys and girls bowling teams have performed well throughout the season. Coach Jaster and a few bowlers have shared about this progress. From the start of the season to right now, here is a preview of what’s gone down so far.
As all sports do, the bowling team started the season with tryouts. Coach Jaster said that tryouts are essential to see where improvement is needed for the team to flourish later on. He shared that their goals for this season are to get the girls and boys teams to win districts and then perform well at state. He also hopes to have as many individuals as possible qualify for state.
Coach Jaster believes that the team will always do their best and earn the accomplishments of their hard work and training. He says the only thing he would like to improve from last year is having the team become more focused and driven at all times. He wishes to help everyone improve their mental game.
As for the bowlers, Gavin Unger, junior, and Bronwyn Prokopec, sophomore, shared their goals for the season too. They both said they hope to qualify as individuals and continue winning at districts and state. Prokopec shares that her goal is to up her game get an average of 175 and reach a new high score of 220. Unger says that his goal is to bowl more consistently and have a healthy mindset.
Both bowlers shared that they went quite well. Prokopec and Unger said that they showed off their current skills to the coaches which helped them see where they were at. Prokopec hopes to improve her form, her overall average, and her mental state as she bowls. Unger also says that he hopes to improve his mindset this season and learn to control himself more in tough situations.
On Wednesday, Jan. 24, the boys team brought home the HAC champion trophy. The teams have had a good season, and as they continue their hard work, hopefully, they can accomplish all their goals for this season! Let’s wish them well as the season progresses!
