This week’s Teacher Tuesday is the Newspaper and Yearbook advisor, Mrs. Kwapnioski. The classes you can find her teaching are English 11 and 12, AP Literature, and Yearbook and Newspaper.
Kwapnoiski grew up outside Chicago and after high school went to the University of Illinois; she has since gotten her Master’s from Wayne State College.
When asked what made her want to become a teacher, she responded, “Well, after I failed calculus and needed to boost my GPA, I turned to English classes. I had some great professors and learned I’m pretty good at explaining literature to others.” She has only taught at CHS making her career 34 years here.
Her favorite part of teaching is her students. “I love watching a student “get” whatever we’re working on.” Outside of school, you can find her keeping up with her daughters, drinking Diet Pepsi, reading, watching movies, and being busy on the Centro Hispano and Columbus Public Library board.
