This week’s Teacher Tuesday is Mr. Krysl.
Krysl wanted to be a teacher because when he was young a teacher was a profession where you could teach and coach all while making money. He also knew that he wanted to make a difference in kids’ lives. Krysl started teaching in 1989 at Rising City Public Schools and later taught at High Plains Community School. In 2008, he became a teacher at Columbus Middle School before moving to the High School in later years.
Krysl went to a class D school called Stuart Public Schools in Stuart, Nebraska. Following high school, he went to Wayne State College and majored in Industrial Education and Management.
When asked what his favorite part of teaching is he said, “It is so rewarding when my students draw or build a complete machine. The joy of accomplishment that a student gets is wonderful.”
Outside of school, Krysl owns a contracting and construction business with Mr. Loschen, a retired STEM teacher from CMS. He also enjoys spending time with his grandchildren, hunting, and watching football.
