CHS is to present the musical Cinderella on November 8 and 9. The show is directed by Ms. Chelsea Parker, Ms. Zaidya Hirschmann and Mr. Carter Anderson.
“This musical follows the classic fairy tale of a girl who is mistreated by her stepmother and stepsisters. When they hear that the Prince is giving a ball and commands that every eligible maiden in the kingdom attends, Cinderella is excited to get out of her house for a night of dancing and a chance to meet the Prince. Cinderella’s dreams are dashed when her cruel stepmother tells her she can’t go. However, a Fairy Godmother steps in to make Cinderella’s dream come true,” says Parker.
The lead roles of the production are played by freshman Aliya Nichols as Cinderella, senior Aidan Ballentine as Prince Christopher and senior Bria Jeffereys as Fairy Godmother. The other leads are Elisabeth Suiter as Queen Constantina, Duncan Rosno as King Maximillian, Nathaniel Navarrete as the Royal Steward, Sheyla Monteza-Gonzalez as the stepmother and Caitlin Campbell and Bronwyn Prokopec as the stepsisters.
The directors of the show are excited for people to see how much talent the cast and crew has. According to Parker, there are more elaborate set pieces then they had last year, and the crew has done great work on them.
“They have been working so incredibly hard, and I can’t wait for people to see them shine,” Parker states.
The directors would also like to note that this is a great, family friendly show. It’s the classic Cinderella story, but it’s not based on the Disney movie, so there will be no “Bibbity Bobbity Boo.” They are excited for everyone to see it! The showings are at 7 p.m. on Friday and 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. on Saturday. C-Stamps will get you in for free.
