This week’s Teacher Tuesday feature is Mr. Townsend! Townsend teaches Physics, Honors Physics, and Physical Science. He graduated from Grand Island Senior High School, University of Nebraska Kearney, and University of Virginia.Townsend began teaching in the year 2000. Throughout the years he had many excellent teachers. He has always had a passion for math and science. 

Townsend said, “I guess I just put those two experiences together and became a teacher.” 

His favorite class to teach is Honors Physics. Townsend states, “You get a more mathematically detailed picture of the universe.” He worked at one other school before CHS. He taught at Garden City High School in Garden City, Kansas. 

Here are some fun facts about Townsend. As a kid, Townsend dreamed of either designing advanced weapons systems or programming computers. Guess he can mark programming computers off his list! His favorite genre of music is 80’s pop. One final fact is the first computer he ever learned to program on was a Timex Sinclair 1000.
