The only thing more fun than swimming at the pool with friends, is COMPETING in a pool with friends. On the CHS Swim and Dive team, you can do both!
The athletes in this sport work rigorously to perfect their technique in races like the 50m, 100m, and 200m in many different styles. Greta Roberts, one of the junior members, believes that the 100 m back is the best race because she “is lowkey crazy with it.” To all the older folks, that means she is really good at the event and enjoys it.
Outside of the normal 4pm-6pm practices during the school week, the student-athletes also go to competitions during the week. On average, these kids spend 9 hours each week at swim meets.
There are so many amazing things about the swim team. Julianna Figge, the captain of the swim team, says her favorite part of swim team is “the team meals, playing Uno with everyone, and eating good food before home meets, as well as goofing off in the lanes with the other girls.”
