This weekend, a few different sports had competitions.
Starting on Thursday, the Swim and Dive team traveled to Grand Island for a meet. The girls varsity team took home a win while the boys varsity team lost. Greta Roberts commented, “It was an amazing meet, and I can’t wait to see how the rest of the season goes!”
Girls and boys varsity basketball went head to head against Omaha Westview on Friday and, unfortunately, took a loss in all games competed. Bystanders believed that it was a fair game, and everyone played well.
The Diamond Dancers performed their hip hop routine during halftime at these games, and the cheerleaders did lots of crowd work.
On Saturday, the girls and boys varsity basketball teams traveled to Benson for some away games. The boys took a loss of 60-71, but the girls got a WIN at 48-32.
This Friday, February 14, is Senior Night for girls and boys basketball, as well as cheer! It will be a beautiful celebration of all the hard work from the seniors as they are honored alongside their parents.
From girls basketball, Grayson Gentile, Abby Haynes, Ayla Janssen, and Charli Preister will all be represented. From boys basketball, Ryder Bock, Alex Dush, Quinn Freshour, Connor Kallweit, Luke Messersmith, Zach Nelson, and Will Wickham will all walk the court with their parents. Of the cheerleaders, Makara Beringer, Madison French, and Emily Mausbach are all being honored.
