This week’s Teacher Tuesday is Mr. Trosien! Trosien is in his fifth year of teaching, beginning his career at Harvest Christian Academy in Elgin, Illinois. At CHS, you can find Mr. Trosien teaching Psychology, World History and Economics.
When asked about his favorite part of teaching, he responded, “ My favorite part about being a teacher is that I love having the chance to both learn from and teach the kids that come through my room each day. Teaching is the have-to of my job, learning and getting to know my students are the privileges and perks of being a teacher.”
Trosien studied for an Associate of Arts at Elgin Community College, History at the University of Illinois in Chicago and is currently attending Wayne State for school counseling. His favorite memory while attending school was going out with friends to local legendary sub shop Fontanos after class.
“While being relatively new at CHS, my favorite experience from CHS is getting to run all sorts of wacky psychology experiments in my classes,” he says.
Outside of school, Trosien enjoys spending time with friends playing golf and board games, reading and building Legos. He is also very fond of his wife who works as a process engineer at BD and his 8-month-old daughter, Elora. He enjoys walks with his family, and his dog, Pips, who he refers to as “a mutt of all mutts.”
Make sure to say hello to Mr. Trosien if you spot him in the hallway!
