The Homecoming Pep Rally that happened on Friday was ELECTRIC! If you missed it, here is everything you need to know.
Highlight Videos:
This year, instead of having each individual coach speak on the microphone, the CHS Staff elected to have hype videos dedicated to each sport that has competed in the fall were played. Ms. Kwapnioski, the advisor for The Voyage and AnchorNews, put all of the videos together. After the video played over the big screen, Mr. Peabody gave a quick overview about each sport’s successes in the season.
For the very last sport, Girls Golf, Ms. Robertson and the varsity team were invited onto the floor. She congratulated them on securing the District win, as well as highlighting Molly Goc as the best golfer in her coaching career!
Dance:
The Diamond Dancers performed their dynamic routine called “How Low” after the highlight videos were played. This dance was super fast-paced and constantly moving. It was super entertaining for the audience, and a lot of the Diamonds’ favorite routine!
C-Town Showdown:
This year, the C-Town Showdown for the homecoming pep rally was Tug-of-War. The four homerooms that competed for the title of best homeroom were Wemhoff, Schroeder, McGill, and Bethune. In the end, McGill came out on top…for the students.
McGill’s homeroom still had to compete against the loaded teacher team to secure the victory. The teacher’s team included Mr. Carmichael, Mr. Gillispie, Mr. Hoenk, Ms. Long, Ms. Riedmiller, Mr. Wemhoff. In the end, the teachers ended up securing the C-Town Showdown title!
Spirit Day Modelling:
After the excitement of C-Town, the Student Council kept it going by revealing the homecoming spirit week themes. Their costumes perfectly represented what students should look like next week!
Monday – Color Wars (freshmen-green, sophomores-yellow, juniors-pink, seniors-blue, staff-purple)
Tuesday – Jungle / Safari Day
Wednesday – Pajama Day
Thursday – Maroon Out
Homecoming Candidates:
The homecoming candidates were also announced during this pep rally! Eight boys and eight girls were selected for the final homecoming court. After they were announced, they played the new homecoming court game: Balance the Pizza Box. In the end, Connor Williams came out on top!
