SkillsUSA is a student-led career and technical student organization. These activities and their projects that they do are all centered around what is known as a “SkillsUSA Framework.” The three main components of the framework are technical skills, personal skills, and workplace skills. Every conference that they participate in helps students grow in these three areas, so that they can be successful in life after they graduate high school.
The main events in the year is their state leadership conference in April. It is where the students get to compete in a chosen career and receive immediate feedback from current industry professionals and college instructors.
If the students in SkillsUSA receive first place in their contest, they will have the opportunity to compete at the national level against students their age all across the country.
