With spring sports starting this week, let’s wrap up boys and girls basketball.
The boys finished their season with a loss to Omaha Westside in the Class A district tournament. Even though they did not make it to state, they still beat South Sioux City and Omaha Northwest earlier in the season. They also had a good team atmosphere and you could really tell that everyone felt that they were a part of the team.
Kyler Ahrens said, “Through any troubles the seniors may have had this season, they still at least made me (an underclassman) feel welcomed.”
The girls finished their season with a loss to Papillion-LaVista in the first round of the A2 districts. Although they also didn’t make it to state, they played some good games towards the end. They also kept battling to the end and won some big games like against Lincoln North Star and Norfolk.
Coach Bills said, “Our effort and work ethic was great throughout the year. The girls did a great job this year. It was a lot of fun to coach this group this season.”
