You already know that Wednesday night’s UNL Huskers v. UNO Mavericks volleyball game set a world record for attendance at a women’s sporting event. The crowd of 92,003 beat out the record held since March 2022 at the Barcelona v. Real Madrid Champion League match. That record held for 22 years.
Watching the game, the crowd was clearly fully committed to the event. Senior Sam Kiser said, “The ground was shaking.” From the tunnel walk to the gameplay to the record, it was a memorable occasion for those who participated, attended, or watched from home.
