Exactly a week ago today, 12 brave acts took to the CHS stage to compete in the prestigious CHS Variety Show. Each group worked very hard to prepare for the show and did incredible. In the end, the three groups came out on top:
- In first place was the quartet of Sheyla, Aidan, Nathaniel and Caiti. This amazing singing quartet sang an acapella version of “Birds of a Feather” by Billie Eilish. They captivated the audience with their performance, leading them to the victory.
- Brittney Munoz brought home second place. Her intriguing performance of Adios Amor by Christian Nodal, which she sang in Spanish, was an absolute hit! Munoz received a standing ovation and the second-highest score.
- In third place was junior Delaney Young. Not only did she beautifully sing “Scars to Your Love” by Alessia Cara, but she also played the cajón (a musical instrument) to accompany her. She received the third-highest score, and a few audience members recounted shedding a tear during her performance.
After the twelve acts performed, the Diamond Dancers and Captain’s Chorale made a special performance. The Diamond Dancers performed a modified version of their UDA Hip Hop dance “I Look Good.” After the DDT, the Captain’s Chorale group sang their trifecta of songs they are preparing for San Antonio – “Just Sing,” “Amazing” and “Woot Woot.” Both groups have many performances upcoming, so contact someone in each group to find those dates.
