From the great depths of our world’s past to today’s specific job market, you can find Mr. Mohr—CHS’s new Career Seminar and World History teacher—teaching both.
Mohr is originally from the small town of Odell in southern Nebraska. He attended Diller-Odell High School with his graduating class consisting of only 12 people. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and majored in Secondary Education with a concentration in Social Sciences.
He notes his biggest influence going into teaching was his father, who is also a teacher. Many of his relatives are also teachers. He chose to major in social sciences after finding his high school history teachers the most enjoyable.
Outside of school, he enjoys staying active, seeing friends and family, and keeping up with sports. At the college level, he notes he’s a big fan of Nebraska football, basketball, and baseball. In professional terms, he notes he’s a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles for the NFL, Boston Celtics for the NBA, and St. Louis Cardinals for the MLB. He also wants to make it clear, “Yes, I have supported these teams my entire life, so do not consider me a bandwagon.”
If you ever see him in the halls, make sure to stop by and say hi!
