Spring sports are fully in motion now, and the teams have finally begun to compete! The official competitions began on Thursday, March 19, so here are the outcomes for all of the matchups (to date).
Thursday – 19th
Today was a huge day for sports! JV and varsity baseball, as well as girls and boys soccer, had their first competitions of the season – and they did not disappoint! JV baseball walked away with an 11-10 win against Norfolk, and varsity baseball did the same with a 6-2 win. Girls JV and varsity soccer dominated Lincoln North Star, with varsity sweeping 6-0 and JV 2-0. The boys varsity soccer unfortunately fell to Lexington in a tough battle 0-2, but they fought to the end.
Friday – 20th
Varsity and JV baseball continued their competition into the weekend, versus Seward in their hometown. Varsity pushed with everything they had, but unfortunately came out 2-4 against the Bluejays. However, JV pulled out a 6-3 win!
Saturday – 21st
Soccer and baseball took their competitions into the weekend. The girls varsity soccer team gave Lincoln Southeast everything they had, but unfortunately came up with a 0-3 loss against the Knights. The boys varsity soccer team had a similar fate, coming up short in a 0-3 score against Omaha Central. However, our baseball team flipped the script when they competed at home against Omaha Burke. Varsity dominated the team with a 12-2 win, and JV held Burke to only one point, with a final score of 16-1.
These teams have already worked so hard this season, and are proving to be successful. Let’s see where the rest of the season takes them!
