Writing this makes me terribly sad, but here I am with my last ever article for AnchorNews. This has been an extremely fun year, and it makes me wish I had joined the staff sooner. This has been an amazing way to spend part of my senior year!
Some of my favorite memories with the newspaper and yearbook staff include getting to go out and take pictures and interview people, and also Late Night—especially playing Sardines across CHS.
Some advice I have for you all is to get involved. Treasure every moment you have because one day it will all be gone. I can’t imagine what my high school experience would have been like if it weren’t for all the friends I’ve met and gotten closer to along the way. Another piece of advice I have is to stay true to yourself. Don’t try to change yourself to fit into others’ molds. Here’s the takeaway: being your weird self will scare away the people who aren’t right for you.
After I leave, I will be attending Kansas State University to major in Architecture. I am so excited for my next journey, and I can’t wait to finally move in mid-August (I don’t even move in until you all have already completed a week of school).
Anyway, that’s all I have for you. Being in AnchorNews has been so fun, and I’m so sad this is over. But don’t worry, readers; it’s in good hands.
This is Reece signing out. I’ll miss you all!
