The 2025-2026 school year brings a new class led by Mr. Townsend: Computer Science. This class is about programming and Python coding, and is also self-directed, so the students can work at their own pace. Townsend said he likes teaching the class because, “It’s a lot of problem solving, and the students have to figure out how to solve one puzzle after another, using new tools they learn along the way.” 

This new class seems pretty awesome, and it is great that the school is expanding and offering more diverse classes. He also said that the students taking the class enjoy it because, again, they can go at their own pace and get as much done as they want. For example, the faster they can get through their work, the faster they can move on and get to learning new things. 

Since the school has a diverse student body, there is surely a class for everyone. Whether it’s Computer Science or Child Development, there are many classes to choose from! The Computer Science class is for grades 10-12, so if you like coding them maybe you should consider taking this class next year. Townsend is a great and funny teacher, and he would love to have you in his class anytime.
