The last Teacher Tuesday of February features Mr. John Klemmensen, a second-year teacher who teaches Algebra I and Geometry. Before becoming a teacher, Klemmensen worked as a fraud prevention specialist for FNBO. He grew up in Lawton, Iowa, and South Sioux City, Nebraska, where he graduated from high school. He then went to Wayne State College to graduate with his Bachelor’s Degree in Math Education.
When asked what made him want to become a teacher, he responded, “I wanted to be a teacher because of the impact my teachers and coaches had on me.”
His favorite part about teaching is “learning a whole new language from his students while teaching math at the same time.”
Some fun facts about Klemmensen are that he’s never been on a plane, he used to play esports (Valorant) for his college team, and he’s getting married this year.
