Today, we embark on our first of many Teacher Tuesdays to highlight the new teachers joining the CHS staff for the 2025-26 school year. This week, we’re starting in the English department—or as he says, the “best department”—with Mr. Anderson!
Going from Littleton, Colorado, to room G210, he’s brand new to CHS—and the teaching profession as a whole—this year. You can find him teaching English 9, English 10 General, and English 11 General.
After attending Dakota Ridge High School (also in Littleton), he attended Chadron State College, where he majored in English Education 7-12. He notes he chose to go into education after an opportunity he had working at a summer camp-like environment at a place called the Outdoor Lab. He was an archery instructor, and he enjoyed watching kids’ faces light up when they shot a bullseye. From that point on, he knew he wanted to work with kids. This was proven in the first week when he saw how “locked in” his English 11 kids were when they started reading Montana 1948.
Outside of school, he’s a man of many hobbies. In true English teacher fashion, he loves to read; his all-time favorite book is 1Q84 by Haruki Murakami. He loves hunting, fishing, and working on his car and truck. He enjoys working out, also noting he’s “one of those psychopaths” who likes running at 6 A.M. He has a 6-month-old corgi who consumes a lot of his time.
Whenever you see him, make sure to stop by and say hi!
