JAG stands for Jobs for America’s Graduates. This class can be taken for one semester at the high school, and the teacher for JAG classes is Mrs.Gable.
How is JAG beneficial? JAG can help students learn how to take on leadership roles and learn more about the careers they are going into after they graduate. This program also builds real world skills for the students to learn for students to use after high school.
This class does many communal activities like leadership projects, field trips, guest speakers, and community outreach projects. These projects can help students explore different careers and see where they are strong and what they want to do after they graduate. JAG helps the students to grow many strengths and helps them step out of their comfort zone and see all the options they have after they graduate.
JAG can also help students with college. This class can help students with looking at schools, applying, scholarship applications, writing an essay, and FAFSA. This class comes with amazing benefits for college. Students who take this class will get scholarships that are only available to JAG graduates. Another amazing benefit is the possibility of a $1500 scholarship to either CCC or Metro Community College if attending either of those schools.
You can join JAG by emailing your counselor or signing up for it at the beginning of the school year.
That’s all for today’s article, Discoverers! You can talk to Mrs. Gable if you have questions about JAG!
