With all the movies coming out this year, I think we should probably focus on at least one of them. With Marvel coming out with two alone this year, let’s talk about the one coming out in a few months.
The trailer for the new Spider-Man movie, Spider-Man: Brand New Day dropped last week. This follows the story of Peter Parker after No Way Home, and honestly, it has left many fans speculating about what might happen.
I spoke about the new movie with a wide spectrum of fans, from newer fans to old fans. Ashtyn Bethune really shows just how shocking it was to see the trailer while she finishes up the MCU timeline. “I haven’t seen all the movies yet! But I knew that they erased everyone’s thoughts of knowing Peter Parker, so getting to see how they moved on is what stood out to me.” Which is a shame she got the spoiler, but overall, it is exciting to see that even new fans are excited to see what is to come.
Although it is too bad that newer fans got some spoilers, let’s see some perspective from long-time fans. One said, “I’m most excited to see Scorpion fight Spider-Man, this battle has been waiting since 2016. Also, being able to see Hulk actually go savage again if the rumors are true.” The number of things coming from the comics to life, including scenes in the trailer that very much mimic the covers of Spider-Man comics, is a great easter egg.
We can go to Martin Velasco-Ortiz for his thoughts on what else might happen in the movie that wasn’t in the trailer. “I’m waiting to see Spider-Man team up with Daredevil.” With a main villain in the Daredevil series making a cameo in the trailer, it’s something many fans have been waiting to see in the actual movie.
Major fans, like Janie Lenser, want to see Daredevil in the movie. “Daredevil!!! (Charlie Cox is a LIAR, there is NO WAY he’s not in the movie)” and even being excited over all the Daredevil correlations in the trailer, “The addition of the Hand!! This excites me so much, considering they’re such a big villain in the Daredevil franchise.” Even Julian Magdaleno says, “Daredevil HAS to be in it like there is no way he isn’t.”
I think, if anything, this shows how many people are actually looking forward to this movie coming out. I think most fans are glad that Marvel is getting over that rough bump they were stuck in for a while. Remember to catch this movie in theaters on July 31.
