As this school year comes to an end with only 18 days left for the freshmen, sophomores, and juniors, and 13 days left for the seniors, it is a good idea to take a look at your grades and make sure they look how you want them to.
Times can get stressful, especially right now when classes are finishing up units and then starting to get into finals, and you might not realize that your grades might be starting to slip a little. This is why we must check them daily and pay attention in class so that exams and quizzes can be easier. But don’t be stressed because “progression over perfection” is always better than anything. The grades we have do not define how much we know or who we are, but making sure to keep our grades up can lead to great growth.
Some of you might be thinking, “But my grades in high school don’t even matter that much.” However, the foundation and efforts you put in today can lead to gaining amazing opportunities in the future. Keeping your grades up to par in high school can help you form good routines that will benefit you later in life. Having good grades right now can help keep your GPA in good standing and is what colleges look at when considering candidates. Of course, they consider other criteria, but GPA plays a big role in whether you get a spot at a college.
Not every person will pursue higher education and go to college, but grades still matter. Even if you are not going to college, the benefits of gaining knowledge here in high school are very important in life in the long term.
I hope you got some motivation to keep your grades in good standing and focus up for the last few weeks of the school year. Make sure to check out our Instagram @chsanchornews, have a great day, and study hard!
