Let’s catch up with Discoverer sports!
Boys and girls basketball
Last week, the girls’ and boys’ basketball teams suffered losses in the double-elimination tournament against Norfolk. They also played Omaha Burke on Tuesday for their senior night, and both girls and boys won their games.
Wrestling tournaments
Last weekend, our girls wrestling team had their district wrestling tournament, and they all did amazingly. We have four girls qualified for state wrestling. This year, freshman Olivia Bice, sophomore Brittley Brathwait, and juniors Natalie Crus and Gracie Trejo will represent CHS. Can’t wait to see these girls do great at State!
Also wish the boys wrestling good luck this weekend because they will be competing at the district meet to see who qualifies for State. Good luck, boys wrestling!
Girls and boys swim
The girls and boys swim teams have been doing great. Bradlyn Gentile has a secondary time for the 100 free and back. The boys swim team is also doing amazing with their free and medley relay, and has a second-place time as well. Let’s also wish them luck because they will be having their district this weekend.
Boys and girls bowling
The last sport I will be talking about is bowling. They did have a district meet, and Roman Long won first at districts for Columbus Bowling. Congratulations, Roman! Congratulations also go to Taley Dittmar who qualified for State. Yay, Taley!
That’s a wrap for the winter sports. Stay tuned for updates from state-level competitions.
