| Yay, yay! It’s Halloween week!! The most popular thing to do on Halloween is trick-or-treating, and who doesn’t love to go trick-or-treating? My personal favorite part of going trick-or-treating is getting the big-sized candy bars.
The most popular Halloween candy is Reese’s peanut butter cups, but the most popular candy in Nebraska is Laffy Taffy. The most unpopular candy is candy corn, which is one of my favorite Halloween candies. It might not be everyone’s favorite candy, but candy corn is the oldest Halloween candy. It was invented in the 1880s. It was designed to resemble chicken feed and became popular during the fall season. A fun fact about trick or treating is that trick or treating it has some roots in ancient Celtic traditions and different practices in medieval Europe, like “souling” and “guisng”; some people would go door to door in a costume to perform or pray for food or a “soul cake.”
