If you haven’t noticed or seen their faces, CHS has a couple of student teachers this semester. For this week’s edition of Teacher Tuesday, let’s dive into who they are and what they plan to do in their futures.
Ms. Massman – English
You can find Ms. Massman student teaching English with Ms. Parker. She currently attends Wayne State College and is majoring in English Language Arts Education. Post graduation, she hopes to teach English, although she is unsure what exactly this entails. She will be certified to teach 7th through 12th grade, and she has a large variety of English-related courses she can teach: drama, journalism, or literature. Whatever life throws at her, she says she will be happy with either of them!
So far, she has thoroughly enjoyed meeting all the students and staff here at CHS. She also said, “I graduated from this high school, so it’s been a little extra special because I get to be on this journey with some of the people who taught and inspired me.”
Mr. Mann – STEM
You can find Mr. Mann in the STEM wing with Mr. Krysl and Mr. Whitmore. He attends Wayne State College and is majoring in Skilled and Technical Sciences. After graduating from college, he isn’t too picky about what exactly he teaches, but he notes his top choices would be drafting and robotics.
He is enjoying student teaching so far. The CHS STEM department offers numerous opportunities, and he has noted that learning new material and expanding his knowledge have been important to him so far. He notes, “It’s amazing to get the chance to work under some very talented educators.”
I thoroughly enjoyed talking to Ms. Massman and Mr. Mann. If you ever see them around, don’t be afraid to say hi!
