Good morning, Discoverers! Today is another Teacher Tuesday, and this week is all about Mr. Wayman.
Wayman grew up in Kearney, Nebraska, and attended the University of Nebraska-Kearney (UNK). While he was there, he majored in Social Science 7-12 Education, so that he could teach high school history. This year, he teaches US History (both general and dual credit) and American Government.
Wayman has been teaching for nine years, but this is his sixth year at CHS. When he isn’t working with students, he is out on the field with the girls soccer team. He is the head coach for the girls soccer team, and is involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), leading it with Coach Sander.
During his six years here, Wayman has made memories he will cherish forever. His favorite memory, however, is when he coached the 2024 girls varsity soccer team to the state tournament. What an accomplishment!
Outside of the school, Wayman has a very exciting life development. He and his wife just had their first son in August, and he has been having an amazing time watching him grow.
If you see Mr. Wayman in the hallway, make sure to say hi, and ask him how his son is!
